Where we work

One shop in Ticonderoga, crews in every direction

Ticonderoga sits where Lake George meets Lake Champlain, which puts us within about an hour of most of the North Country. Crown Point is 10 minutes away, Hague 20, Schroon Lake and Whitehall 30, Westport and Lake George 40, Elizabethtown 45, Keene an hour, and the Olympic region and Plattsburgh about 75 minutes. Shoreham and Orwell, Vermont are 20 minutes by the ferry or the Crown Point bridge.

Almost none of these towns have natural gas. Homes heat with fuel oil, propane, wood and electric baseboard, which is why a Mitsubishi cold-climate heat pump makes such a large difference here. The equipment we install delivers 100% of its rated heating at 5°F, keeps operating to -13°F, and runs to -22°F on H2i Plus models, which covers the Champlain Valley's -10°F design nights and the High Peaks' -20°F to -30°F ones.

Rebates follow your electric utility, not your county line. Most of Essex, Clinton and Franklin counties are NYSEG; Hague, Putnam, Lake George, Bolton Landing, Chestertown, Warrensburg and Whitehall are National Grid; the City of Plattsburgh has its own municipal utility; and Vermont addresses go through Efficiency Vermont. We know every one of these programs and file them for you. See the service area map to confirm your zip.

FAQ

Service area questions

Do you serve my town if it is not listed?

Almost always. The list covers the towns we are asked about most, not the edge of the map; the back roads between them are included. If you are within about 100 minutes of Ticonderoga, call (518) 812-1958 and we will confirm.

How far do you travel from Ticonderoga?

Our regular territory runs north along Lake Champlain to Plattsburgh and Chazy, west through Elizabethtown and Keene to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake, south along Lake George to Lake George village, Chestertown and Warrensburg, down Route 22 to Whitehall, and across the lake into Addison County, Vermont.

Is there a travel charge?

Not for estimates anywhere in our service area and not for installations. Service calls at the far edges of the territory may carry a trip charge, which we quote when you book.

Do you work in Vermont with Vermont rebates?

Yes. We have installed in Addison County for years and handle Efficiency Vermont and Green Mountain Power incentives the same way we handle NYS Clean Heat in New York.

Which utility handles my rebate?

Most of Essex, Clinton and Franklin counties are NYSEG. Hague, Putnam, Lake George, Bolton Landing, Chestertown, Warrensburg and Whitehall are National Grid. The City of Plattsburgh has its own municipal utility, as do the villages of Lake Placid and Tupper Lake. Vermont addresses go through Efficiency Vermont. We confirm which program applies at the free estimate.

Which towns save the most by switching?

The ones without natural gas, which is nearly all of them. Homes burning oil, propane or electric baseboard in the High Peaks, the Champlain Valley and around Lake George see the widest cost gap and usually qualify for the higher rebate tiers.

“This is our second Mitsubishi heat pump … to heat the 30x40 insulated metal building with a single head we put up but handles it great. … they had to order and install the system in a little over 2 weeks to get it done by 12/31 to qualify for a large rebate and they got it done.”
