Twenty minutes across the lake, and we have been coming over for years

From our shop on Montcalm Street, the Ticonderoga ferry lands in Shoreham in a few minutes and the Lake Champlain Bridge at Crown Point puts us in Addison in ten. Shoreham and Orwell are about 20 minutes away, Bridport and Addison about the same, Middlebury 40 and Vergennes 45. That is closer than most of the New York towns we serve, which is why Addison County has been part of our regular territory since we opened.

The county is farm country with a lake shore: dairy farms and 1800s farmhouses in Shoreham, Orwell, Bridport and Addison; lake houses and camps along the Champlain shore from Larrabees Point north past Chimney Point to Panton and Ferrisburgh; the college town of Middlebury; the small city of Vergennes; and newer homes along Route 7, Route 22A and Route 30. None of it has natural gas. Oil, propane, wood and electric resistance do the heating, and the winter design temperature is around -10°F.

We bring the same Mitsubishi lineup across the lake that we install at home: ductless wall and floor-mounted units for farmhouses with radiators, ducted air handlers for homes that have furnace ductwork, multi-zone systems for larger houses, and single zones for additions and camps. Our own Mitsubishi-certified crew does the install and the 12-year parts and labor warranty is the same on both sides of the water.

Cold-climate performance

Why Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat works in Addison County

Addison County winters are Champlain Valley winters: a design temperature near -10°F around Addison County, occasional nights colder than that, and a long shoulder season. Mitsubishi Electric Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) equipment delivers 100% of its rated heating capacity at 5°F, keeps operating to -13°F, and the H2i Plus and FS-series models run to -22°F. These are the same units we install on the New York shore, where the lake wind is just as cold.

The inverter compressor modulates to match the load rather than cycling, so the system runs quietly at low speed most of the winter and ramps up only when it has to. Every install starts with a room-by-room load calculation so the equipment matches your house, not a rule of thumb.

Rebates & incentives

Heat pump rebates for Addison County homeowners

Addison County homeowners work with Efficiency Vermont, which offers rebates on qualifying cold-climate heat pumps, plus utility incentives from Green Mountain Power on many addresses. We are a New York company, but we have installed on the Vermont side of the lake for years and handle the Vermont paperwork the same way we handle NYS Clean Heat at home.

A few addresses in the county are served by a utility other than Green Mountain Power. We check who bills your electricity, confirm every incentive you qualify for at the free estimate, and handle the Efficiency Vermont paperwork.

Programs and tiers change, so we do not print dollar figures here. We confirm your exact amount at the free estimate and file the paperwork for you. See rebates & savings and financing.

Run your numbers first. Our savings calculator compares your current oil, propane or electric bill against a Mitsubishi system and generates a $250-off code you can use at your estimate.

Yes. Efficiency Vermont incentives apply to qualifying cold-climate heat pump installs, and Green Mountain Power adds utility incentives on many addresses. We confirm what your home qualifies for at the free estimate and handle the paperwork.

Is the equipment different for Vermont?

No. We install the same Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating INVERTER systems on both sides of the lake: 100% capacity at 5°F, operation to -13°F and to -22°F on H2i Plus models, which covers an Addison County winter.

Do you service systems in Vermont after the install?

Yes. We group Vermont service calls together and many Comfort-app-connected systems can be diagnosed remotely first. Flat-rate maintenance pricing is posted on our site.
