Adirondack Heat Pumps 180-Day Comfort Guarantee
You get 180 days from commissioning to put your new Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat system through a North Country winter or summer. If it does not keep your home comfortable, we come back — up to three times — and re-balance, adjust or resize it at no charge. If we still cannot deliver the comfort we promised on a qualifying whole-home install, we refund your installation investment. Backed by a 12-year parts and labor warranty after that.

Six months of real-world use, no gimmicks
A heat pump proposal is a prediction: this equipment, sized this way, will keep this house at the temperature you want at -10°F in Ticonderoga or -25°F in Saranac Lake. We make that prediction from a Manual J load calculation, not a rule of thumb. The 180-Day Comfort Guarantee is how we stand behind it.
Live with it
The clock starts the day we commission the system. Run it through the coldest nights and the stickiest August afternoons. Set it the way you actually live.
Tell us if something is off
A room that lags, a zone that short-cycles, a unit that is louder than it should be. Call (518) 812-1958 and we come back and fix it — up to three visits, no charge.
If we can't make it right
If three visits cannot deliver the comfort we promised, we refund 100% of your installation investment on a qualifying whole-home install. No hidden clauses.

What the guarantee covers
180 days from commissioning
The term starts the day we start the system up and hand it over, not the day you sign. Winter installs get a winter test; summer installs get a summer test.
Up to three resolution visits
Re-balancing airflow, adjusting controls and refrigerant charge, relocating or resizing an indoor unit — whatever it takes to hit the design, at no charge.
Qualifying installs
Whole-home Mitsubishi Electric systems designed by us from a load calculation and installed by our crew. Partial systems meant to supplement another heat source are covered for the rooms they were designed to serve.
What "comfortable" means: the system holds the design temperatures written in your proposal, in the rooms it was designed to serve, under normal operation and at the outdoor temperatures Mitsubishi rates the equipment for — 100% capacity at 5°F, operating to -13°F on H2i and to -22°F on H2i Plus models. We put those numbers in writing before you sign so there is nothing to argue about later.

Engineering first, then the guarantee
Manual J load calculation on every job
We measure the house — square footage, insulation, windows, orientation, air leakage — and calculate the heating and cooling load room by room. An oversized system short-cycles and leaves rooms clammy; an undersized one runs flat out and falls behind at -15°F. Right-sizing is what makes the guarantee affordable for us to offer.
Equipment built for -22°F
Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating INVERTER systems deliver 100% of rated heating capacity at 5°F and keep running well below zero, which is why we can guarantee comfort in Essex County without a backup furnace in most homes. Read more on cold-climate heat pumps.
Factory-trained installers
Diamond Contractor ELITE status means our installers are trained directly by Mitsubishi Electric and we have access to the 12-year extended warranty that standard contractors cannot offer.
Long-term protection that outlasts the guarantee
12-year parts and compressor warranty
Most contractors offer 5–10 years on parts. Qualifying systems we install and register carry Mitsubishi's full 12 years on all parts and the compressor. How the 12-year coverage works →
12-year labor through the Adirondack Shield
Labor is usually the surprise bill. The Adirondack Shield Elite Care Plan covers labor, trip charges and refrigerant on covered failures for 12 years, from $28/month, with two maintenance visits a year included. Plan details →

| Feature | Adirondack Heat Pumps | Typical HVAC provider |
|---|---|---|

| Parts warranty | 12 years on all factory parts, Mitsubishi-backed | 5–10 years depending on manufacturer |
| Compressor warranty | 12 years | Often 10 years at most |
| Labor warranty | 12 years through the Adirondack Shield | 1–2 years, if included at all |

Comfort guarantee questions
What does the 180-Day Comfort Guarantee really mean?
You get six months of real-world use. If the system does not meet the comfort expectations written in your proposal, we come back up to three times to fix it at no charge. If it is still unresolved on a qualifying whole-home install, we refund your installation investment.
When does the 180 days start?
The day we commission the system — start-up, testing and hand-over. Not the day you sign the proposal or the day equipment is delivered.
Which installs qualify?
Whole-home Mitsubishi Electric systems we designed from a Manual J load calculation and installed ourselves. Single-zone or supplemental systems are guaranteed for the rooms they were designed to serve. We tell you in writing which applies before you sign.
Does the guarantee cover my electric bill?
No. The guarantee is about comfort — holding the design temperatures in the rooms the system was designed for. Operating cost depends on your rate, your thermostat habits and the weather. Use the savings calculator for a cost estimate specific to your home.
How do I secure the 12-year parts warranty after the guarantee period?
We register the system with Mitsubishi for you within the 90-day window and give you the confirmation. Keep up annual maintenance — included with the Adirondack Shield — and the parts coverage stays valid for 12 years.
Why is installer certification important?
Only Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor ELITE dealers can offer the maximum 12-year warranty terms. A non-certified installer cannot provide the same long-term coverage or manufacturer backing, no matter what the brochure says.

★★★★★“This is our second Mitsubishi heat pump … to heat the 30x40 insulated metal building with a single head we put up but handles it great. … they had to order and install the system in a little over 2 weeks to get it done by 12/31 to qualify for a large rebate and they got it done.”
