Request a maintenance visit
Tell us the equipment, how many units, and a good week. We reach out within one business day to confirm.
How a maintenance visit works
You send the form
List everything you want done on the same trip — a furnace and a water heater, or a three-zone mini-split. Bundling saves a second visit.
We confirm a time
Within one business day. Book heating equipment in September–October and cooling in April–May to beat the rush; Adirondack Shield members are scheduled automatically.
Full inspect-clean-and-service
Every item on the published task list for your equipment, a combustion and CO test on anything that burns fuel, and a written note of anything that needs attention.
What to have ready
- Brand and rough age of each piece of equipment
- A furnace filter if you want to supply your own (or we bring one at extra cost)
- Clear access to the furnace or boiler, the outdoor unit and every indoor head
- Your last maintenance date, if you know it — helps with warranty records

Why annual maintenance in the North Country
Equipment here runs harder than almost anywhere in the state: heat pumps pulling heat from -20°F air in Saranac Lake, oil boilers firing from October through April in Crown Point. Three reasons to keep the annual visit:
- Warranty. Mitsubishi and every furnace and boiler manufacturer require documented annual service. A compressor claim in year six can be denied without it. We log every visit.
- Efficiency. Dirty coils cost a heat pump 20–30% of its capacity. A soot-coated oil burner with a worn nozzle burns more gallons for the same heat.
- Safety. Every furnace, boiler and gas water heater gets a combustion test and a carbon monoxide check. Cracked heat exchangers and blocked flues are found in October, not at 2 a.m. in January.

Maintenance scheduling questions
When is the best time to book?
Heating equipment in September or October, before the first cold snap. Cooling in April or May. A heat pump that does both benefits from a fall visit and a spring visit; the Shield plan covers both.
Do you maintain equipment you didn't install?
Yes. Any brand, any fuel, at the published prices. Furnaces, boilers, water heaters, central AC and ductless systems of every make.
What's included in the price?
Labor and travel within our service area and the full task list on the pricing page. Refrigerant, replacement parts, spin-on oil filters, thermostat batteries and filters you do not supply are extra, and we tell you before adding any of them.
Can I get a reminder each year?
Yes. Ask when you book and we put you on the call list for the following season. Service contract members are scheduled automatically.
★★★★★“We had Mark, Rolland, and Matt help get mini splits installed in our first home. They worked with us to make sure we had the right system for our home. This team provided amazing professionalism, customer service, and expertise!”
★★★★★“Been doing business with Gerry and his crew for close to 10 years and always totally satisfied with their product and customer service.”
★★★★★“This is our second Mitsubishi heat pump … to heat the 30x40 insulated metal building with a single head we put up but handles it great. … they had to order and install the system in a little over 2 weeks to get it done by 12/31 to qualify for a large rebate and they got it done.”
