The north end of Lake George, where the camps outnumber the year-round homes
Hague is Warren County's northernmost lake town, a 20-minute run down Route 9N from Ticonderoga past Rogers Rock. The shoreline from Friends Point through Silver Bay and down toward Sabbath Day Point is mostly camps and lake houses, many of them in the same family for generations, with a smaller core of year-round homes in the hamlet and up Route 8 toward Graphite and Brant Lake. Winter design temperature is close to -10°F, with wind coming straight up the lake.
No natural gas, as everywhere around the lake. Camps run on propane and electric baseboard because they were built for July; year-round homes run on oil and wood. Many camps are being winterized now so families can use them for the holidays and ski weekends, and a Mitsubishi system is usually the first step: it holds the camp at 50°F cheaply while nobody is there, alerts your phone if it cannot, and heats the place to 70°F in an hour when you arrive.
Because Hague is so close to the shop, we can meet you at the camp on short notice and a service call does not wait for a route. Our crews have put systems into Hague camps on cedar shingle, log and clapboard; the outdoor unit goes up on brackets or a stand on the sheltered side, above the drift line.

Why Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat works in Hague
Winter on Lake George is colder than most people downstate expect. Design temperatures around Hague run close to -10°F, the wind off the lake adds to it, and shoulder-season nights in April and October still call for heat. Mitsubishi Electric Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) equipment delivers 100% of its rated heating capacity at 5°F, keeps operating to -13°F, and the H2i Plus and FS-series models we install run to -22°F.
Because the inverter compressor modulates rather than cycling, a Hyper-Heat system runs low and quiet most of the winter and only ramps up on the handful of nights that need it. That is also what makes it cheap to hold a camp at 50°F while you are away. We size from a room-by-room load calculation and tell you honestly whether a backup heat source still earns its keep.

What we install in Hague
Lakefront camps and year-round village homes need different systems. These are the ones we install most around Hague:
- Seasonal camps on the north basin with freeze alerts, remote control and summer cooling
- Winterizing projects where the heat pump becomes the primary heat for holiday and ski-weekend use
- Electric baseboard and propane replacements, usually one to three zones
- Year-round homes in the hamlet and up Route 8 converting off oil
- Floor-mounted units for camps with knee walls and screened porches converted to rooms
- Repair and maintenance on any brand from 20 minutes away
Single-zone ductless
One outdoor unit, one indoor unit. The right answer for an addition, a great room, a camp or the one room the furnace never reaches.
Ductless mini-splits →Multi-zone systems
One Hyper-Heat outdoor unit feeding up to 8 indoor units, each on its own thermostat.
Indoor unit styles →Whole-home conversions
Replace the oil or propane boiler as the primary heat source. Ductless zones, a ducted air handler, or both.
Whole-home heat pumps →Ducted air handlers
A Mitsubishi SVZ or PVA air handler drops in where an old furnace was and uses the ducts you already have.
Ducted systems →Repair & maintenance
Mitsubishi-certified service on any brand of heat pump, plus furnaces, boilers and central AC. Flat-rate maintenance pricing posted online.
Heat pump repair →RUUD furnaces, boilers & AC
When a heat pump is not the right fit, we install RUUD propane furnaces, high-efficiency boilers and central air, and hybrid heat-pump water heaters.
Traditional HVAC →Heat pump rebates for Hague homeowners
Hague is National Grid territory, so NYS Clean Heat rebates run through National Grid rather than NYSEG. The program works the same way: Adirondack Heat Pumps is a participating contractor, the rebate is applied on the invoice, and whole-home conversions off oil, propane or electric baseboard generally qualify for more than a single room.
Hague is one of the towns where the utility line matters: it is National Grid even though Ticonderoga next door is NYSEG. We know both programs and file both.
Programs and tiers change, so we do not print dollar figures here. We confirm your exact amount at the free estimate and file the paperwork for you. See rebates & savings and financing.
Run your numbers first. Our savings calculator compares your current oil, propane or electric bill against a Mitsubishi system and generates a $250-off code you can use at your estimate.

Heat pump questions from Hague homeowners
Can a heat pump keep my Hague camp from freezing all winter?
Yes. We set the system to hold 50°F, connect it to the Mitsubishi Comfort app and you get a low-temperature alert if it ever cannot hold setpoint. There is no propane tank to run dry and the electric draw at 50°F is small.
Which rebate applies in Hague?
Hague is National Grid territory, so NYS Clean Heat rebates run through National Grid. We are a participating contractor and apply the rebate on the invoice. Replacing propane or electric baseboard qualifies.
How quickly can you get to Silver Bay?
About 20 minutes from the Ticonderoga shop. Hague is one of the closest towns we serve, so estimates and repairs are easy to schedule.
Where does the outdoor unit go on a lakefront camp?
On the sheltered side of the building, mounted on brackets or a stand above the snow and spray. The unit handles the cold; placement handles the wind and the drifts.
Will the system cool the camp in summer?
Yes. The same Mitsubishi system cools and dehumidifies in July, and it is far quieter than the window units most camps on the lake rely on.

★★★★★“This is our second Mitsubishi heat pump … to heat the 30x40 insulated metal building with a single head we put up but handles it great. … they had to order and install the system in a little over 2 weeks to get it done by 12/31 to qualify for a large rebate and they got it done.”
