Gerald Davis

Gerald Davis is a Navy veteran (1982 to 1988) with more than 35 years in heating and cooling, and the owner of Adirondack Heat Pumps and its sister company, Superior CO-OP HVAC in Cambridge, NY.

He started Superior CO-OP HVAC in 2013. The first couple of years were the hardest; by his own account his income was below minimum wage. He stayed focused on one goal, to build an HVAC company that offered the best products and the best service, and let the Google reviews prove it.

The business changed in 2017 when he moved the company into its own building in Cambridge, became a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor and moved up to Diamond Contractor Preferred the same year. In that building he built the first working Mitsubishi Electric heat pump showroom in the Capital District, with displays that actually heat and cool the room.

In January 2020 Gerald made the decision that defines both companies: go exclusively with Mitsubishi Electric for heat pumps and specialize. That same year Mitsubishi awarded Diamond Contractor ELITE, its highest tier. In August 2022 he bought property in Ticonderoga to open a second location for the North Country, and in its first year Adirondack Heat Pumps received the Mitsubishi Grow Award (2023) and earned Diamond Contractor ELITE again. In July 2024 the company moved into the former Champlain Valley Heating & Plumbing building at 15 Montcalm Street.

Gerald still does in-home estimates himself as a Mitsubishi Certified Platinum Comfort Consultant. If he is at your kitchen table, you are getting the person who set the install standard every crew follows: load calculation first, equipment sized to the house, the condenser on a stand over a gravel pad, rebates confirmed and filed. He also sets the policy behind the 180-Day Comfort Guarantee and the 12-year Adirondack Shield plan.

Mitsubishi certification

Gerald is a Mitsubishi Certified Platinum Comfort Consultant. Adirondack Heat Pumps is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor ELITE, graded every year to keep that status, and ongoing factory training for the whole team is part of what the grade is based on. It is also what lets us register the 12-year Mitsubishi parts warranty on every system we install.
