Donovan Light

Donovan Light is a Mitsubishi Certified Platinum Install Technician. He joined the company in June 2022 as an install helper after working as a service technician for another HVAC company, with the stated goal of becoming a lead installer. Since then he has earned Mitsubishi Electric's Platinum install certification and works on single-zone, multi-zone and ducted Hyper-Heat installations.

Coming from the service side gives Donovan a useful perspective on install day. Service technicians see what goes wrong with systems other people installed: hand-tightened flares that leak, drain lines run flat, units set too low in the snow, boards fried by a power surge. Donovan installs with those failures in mind, which is exactly the point of the install standard every Adirondack Heat Pumps job follows.

Platinum certification covers line-set fabrication and flare connections, nitrogen pressure testing and deep evacuation, refrigerant charging by weight, electrical, and commissioning of Hyper-Heating INVERTER systems. On the job he also handles the parts of an install customers see every day: the line-hide on the siding, the condenser stand and pad, and the indoor unit placement.

Donovan is part of the crew that can finish most single-zone installs in a day and whole-home systems in two or three, and he is trained to register the Mitsubishi warranty at commissioning so your coverage is on file before you get your first bill.

Outside of work he likes kayaking, fishing and watching sports.

What Donovan does for Adirondack Heat Pumps customers

Donovan is on the install crew for ductless and ducted Mitsubishi systems. He brings a service technician's eye to the job, so the things that cause callbacks on other people's installs are handled before he leaves your driveway.

Mitsubishi certification

Donovan is a Mitsubishi Certified Platinum Install Technician. Adirondack Heat Pumps is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor ELITE, graded every year to keep that status, and ongoing factory training for the whole team is part of what the grade is based on. It is also what lets us register the 12-year Mitsubishi parts warranty on every system we install.
